Cotopaxi horseback riding

One of the most common activities in Cotopaxi is horseback riding as there are many different routes that may be enjoyed. You can experience different landscapes, either choosing a long tour going through different mountains or a simple tour on dirt roads going through forests and indigenous communities found near the Cotopaxi National Park.

The following are the tours you can choose in Cotopaxi:

From 1 to 2 hours: Horseback ride from the Hacienda through the foothills of the Rumiñahui Mountain to the entrance of the Cotopaxi National Park and back to the Hacienda.

From 3 to 5 hours
1. Horseback ride from the Hacienda to the Cotopaxi National Park and back to the Hacienda crossing a protected forest in Cotopaxi and also going through volcanic rock ravines, several Historical Haciendas and indigenous communities.

2. Horseback riding from Hacienda to Rumiñahui Mountain.

More than 6 hours
1. Horseback ride from the Hacienda, crossing the Cotopaxi National Park, climbing up to the heights of the Sincholagua Mountain, going through the large extensions of dry paramo (moor) shrubs where you can experience the Chagra culture as these are some of the routes they used to travel and continue to do so until today.

2. Horseback ride from the Hacienda to the heights of the Pasochoa Volcano and if you are lucky you may see Andean Condors and other types of birds.
